The Ultimate Voodoo Planning

Formally known as The Voodoo Experience, Voodoo Music + Arts Experience has been around since 1999. It has featured over 2,000 artists since its inception like The Roots, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Metallica, Neil Young, The Weeknd and more. This year will be the 20th anniversary taking place October 26th-28th in City Park New Orleans. Headlining this year is Mumford & Sons, Childish Gambino, Arctic Monkeys and Marilyn Manson. Yes, Marilyn Manson for Halloween!

If you haven’t been to New Orleans, this would be the perfect opportunity for a little more than a killer lineup. Voodoo will feature 3 days of Halloween themed installations, a haunted mortuary, a culinary experience with plenty of NOLA’s tasty traditional dishes, and 4 stages of great music.

New Orleans is a great hub offering many accommodations walking distance or a short drive from every different price range. 3-day GA tickets are currently $155 before taxes, VIP tickets for $450 and Platinum tickets for $1400 before taxes for the ULTIMATE Voodoo experience with complimentary EVERYTHING. Now it’s time to book a hotel! Official Voodoo hotel rates can be found here.

Key Festival Info:

Voodoo will take place in New Orleans’ City Park and gates will open at 12PM each day. Small purses with a single opening will be permitted along with empty hydration packs, water bottles and tumblers. Small chairs, blankets and towels are allowed as well as re-entry throughout the day. Forget something? Don’t worry, a Voodoo Mart will be available for all your festival needs!

The Forked Up Food Court will feature authentic options from Jambalaya Girl, Blue Oak BBQ, Boucherie, Dat Dog and more with vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. To add to the dining experience will be Brew Dat Craft Beer Hall for all the beer geeks; featuring Voodoo Ranger IPA, Imperial IPA, New Belgium beer, 8 Hop Pale Ale, Citradelic and Fat Tire will be on tap. Interactive activities will be available throughout the site like Angry Orchard arcade, Casa Modelo, Voodoo Ranger Lounge and more.

A separate dining experience on Thursday night, Feast Under the Stars, will provide attendees with a sneak peak of the festival before gates officially open and a traditional 5-course meal from award winning chefs: Aarón Sánchez, Justin Devillier, Kelly Fields, Nina Compton and Todd Pulsinelli.

The weather in New Orleans during October is perfect for a festival during the day and night life activities. The temperature tends to average a high of 80°F and a low of 63°F at night. My best advice would be to pace yourself throughout the day to survive taking a stroll through the French Quarter for a legendary grenade and jazz sounds filling up the streets.
