The Vans Warped Tour 25th Anniversary is a Birthday Bash You Won’t Want to Miss
After wrapping up its final cross-country run last year, the longest running and largest traveling music festival in the U.S. will soon gear up to celebrate 25 years of longstanding history, groundbreaking achievements and of course, great music.
For while our summers will likely never be the same without its countless days of sweaty Pop-Punk and Alternative-Rock bliss, the Vans Warped Tour is determined to leave fans with the birthday bash of the century.
Taking place across three locations and five different dates, the Vans Warped Tour will kick things off with a single show at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio (June 8th), before venturing out to Atlantic City Beach, New Jersey (June 29th and 30th) and the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California (July 20th and 21th).
Additional attractions will include a skate ramp with skate demos, freestyle motocross, wrestling, and a special curated collection by Lisa Johnson (rock photographer) exhibiting art of, and inspired by the tour. The Ohio date will also offer fans the unique opportunity to experience a special exhibit titled, “Forever Warped: 25 Years of Vans Warped Tour.” This showcase will include documents and special memorabilia such as instruments from Fall Out Boy and Rancid as well as stage clothing from Joan Jett and Ice-T, which celebrates both the history and growth of the tour since its formation back in 1995.
SOUNDBITE MAGAZINE’S TOP 5 ARTISTS:
The solo project of Black Veil Brides’ lead vocalist, Andy Black [read name Andy Biersack], has been on fire in recent years. And lucky for fans, in addition to the release of his second solo album, The Ghost of Ohio (released April 12 via Lava/Republic Records), 2019 will also see Black hit the road on a UK tour this July before he links up with the Vans Warped Tour for appearances at both Shoreline Amphitheatre and Atlantic City Beach.
I THE MIGHTY
Also making an appearance at both the California and New Jersey locations, are alternative rock quartet, I The Mighty. Coupled with an explosive live show, and catchy riffs, these hometown heroes and San Francisco natives are sure to be a fan favorite at both Vans Warped Tour Events.
DANCE GAVIN DANCE
Hailing from Sacramento, California, Dance Gavin Dance have been making waves in the post-hardcore scene ever since their formation back in 2005. And with the recent release of their eighth studio album, Artificial Selection, as well as 2019 stand-alone single “Head Hunter”, Dance Gavin Dance is a can’t miss act at Shoreline Amphitheatre.
Much to the delight of fans, rock legends, Thrice, will join the Vans Warped Tour for both the California and New Jersey stops along the historic 25th Anniversary celebration. And after the release of Palms, the band’s 10th studio album, Epitaph Records debut, and most sonically diverse record as of yet, we can’t wait to see what Thrice has in store for us this summer!
MEMPHIS MAY FIRE
Consisting of Matty Mullins (vocals), Kellen McGregor (guitar), Cory Elder (bass), and Jake Garland (drums), Texas-based metalcore quartet, Memphis May Fire, are definitely a band to keep on your radar at Shoreline Amphitheatre. Formed in 2005, the group has released five studio albums and two EPs as of yet, and continue to showcase why they are a clear fan favorite for Warped Tour this year.
