West coast’’s best psychedelic festival this year will be going down at Moreno Beach in Lake Perris. About one hour east of Los Angeles, Lake Perris is a whole hour closer than last year’s Joshua Tree location at The Institute of Metaphysics. Relocating Desert Daze grounds more west this year comes in favor for festival goers since the heat has been pretty gnarly lately. Halloween is coming a little early this year ghouls and fools! Since 2012, The Growlers have been performing and headlining their own spook-takular socal festival, Beach Goth and they’re doing it again on August 5th at Los Angeles State Historic Park. Don’t worry, costumes are still encouraged! This year’s lineup includes stellar performances from Starcrawler, GWAR, Doug E. Fresh, Bleached as The Ramones and many more! There are also a few familiar Beach Goth faces such as The Drums, La Luz, The Voidz and of course the boogeymen themselves—The Growlers!
House of Creatives Music & Arts Festival has announced its Phase 1 lineup for the 2018 edition of the Miami festival, which is set to return November 10 & 11.

Boasting a stacked lineup and a combination of both music icons and up-and-coming stars alike, the Alt 98.7 Summer Camp festival is bound to impress. Taking place on Sunday, August 12, at the picturesque Queen Mary Events Park in Long Beach, California, the festival’s heavy-hitting array of talent will include Death Cab for Cutie, ODESZA, CHVRCHES, Judah & the Lion, AJR, Sir Sly, Jungle, lovelytheband, Superorganism, and Two Feet.
On August 2-5, 2018 Lollapalooza will make its much-anticipated return to Grant Park, Chicago, continuing the festival’s long-standing run of over 25 years. In an era where music festivals seem to be more prevalent, widely advertised, and highly attended than ever, it is certainly difficult for festivals to stand out among the crowd. Lollapalooza, however, has such deep roots in the festival realm and a name known worldwide – with installations ranging from Berlin to Brazil to Paris and even Stockholm – that promoters already have a bit of a leg up on the competition when it comes to drawing in audiences.
On a blisteringly hot day, people from all over the Asbury Park area rallied together at Springwood Park as a part of the “Families Belong Together” protests happening nationwide. The protests were set into motion as a way of showing peaceful solidarity with people whose families were broken apart by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the current and former presidents’ terms.
This past Saturday held the 7th annual Summer Splash event which doubled as a tribute to Sublime’s loved, Bradley Nowell. The event took place at a very unique venue in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Shed is a pop up amphitheater that definitely gave you a very modern vibe along the train station. As the doors opened around 1:30pm the sun beamed a scorching 90 degrees. But it was only about to get hotter from there.
Over the past few years “Pride Day” in Asbury Park, NJ has gone smoothly but this year was very different. Pride Day is the last Sunday in June and in Asbury Park it’s held in Bradley Park, an idyllic location a block away from the beach. However, this year Bradley Park was given to Revivalist Reverend Jonathan Shuttlesworth and his “Festival of Life.” Shuttlesworth is no stranger to making anti-LGBTQ comments as he once said that “somebody bound in homosexuality [has a] wicked spirit.” Needless to say that once the LGBTQ community and its allies heard of Shuttlesworth’s festival coming to town, it did not take long for them to come up with a counter festival that welcomes all.
Slossfest is a southern festival highlight, taking place July 14-15th in Alabama’s “Magic City” Birmingham. The festival’s venue is one-of-a-kind; it’s held at the historical industrial site Sloss Furnaces. It’s the only site in the United States that has preserved 20th century blast furnaces and played a major key in the American industrial revolution. With a knack for good music and a desire to give back, local San Diego rock musicians, Switchfoot, will once again hit the waves and stage on June 30, 2018 for the14th Annual BRO-AM Beach Fest. Drawing crowds of over 17,000 people and counting, the event will be held at Moonlight State Beach and feature attractions such as surfing contests and a plethora of different vendors lining the sand. Main draws will also include a top-notch set of live performances by Colony House, Sure Sure, and the winning band from the 91X Battle for the BRO-AM. Switchfoot themselves will even close out the afternoon with a scheduled set beginning at 3:35pm.
