Fremont Street, a Monsoon, and The Cult
As part of the free on concert series at the Downtown Las Vegas Fremont Experience, The Cult performed rain or shine....literally. While waiting for the show to start, a typical monsoon rain cell passed through. It included huge thunderous boom and a wild crack of lightning followed by a crazy down poor of rain.
As the crew scrambled to cover the stage and equipment, we stood in the middle of it all, riding out the rain and getting drenched. It is just what you do when you are super jazzed to see this British legendary rock band. Formed in 80's with lead singer and percussionist Ian Astbury and lead guitarist Billy Duffy as part of the original band, they have had a few departures and re-groupings over the years.
With bassist Grant Fitzpatrick, drummer John Tempesta and on the Keyboards Damon Fox, they sounded as amazing as they did from the start. With hits such as "Fire Woman" and "She Sells Sanctuary" they rocked The Fremont Street Experience like no other. Even though were were soaking wet, we rocked and rolled to the bad ass music from a bad ass band.
