Consistently Inconsistencies

Today we travelled a bit out of state, a bit out of the U.S., maybe overseas...okay, okay! We went to my hometown, Athens, Greece and met with one of the upcoming bands that is making ripples in this country, Europe and are getting ready to take over the world. We met with Inconsistencies (NCNSSTNCS) and had a little chat with them about their success and their future. What started a few years back as a one-man side project is a now a full band with discography, a touring schedule and a ever-growing following.

With adorable faces, promising sounds, unexpected riffs and incredible stage performances, these boys are here to sail you away...

Q: Thank you for having me here today guys! Let's start with an introduction.

A: Hey! We are Inconsistencies, a rock band from Athens, Greece. My name is Ilias and I sing and play the acoustic guitar!

Q: Any particular reason why you named the band "Inconsistencies?"

A:  I was trying to start this music project for years, but my thoughts were not so consistent I guess!

Q: How were Inconsistencies formed? How did it all start?

A: NCNSSTNCS started a in 2013, while the lack of music in my life started taking over me. I had composed numerous scattered choruses during the past years and turning them into songs was inevitable . In late 2013 the newly formed group hit the studio for the 1st time and 'Sailed Away' was recorded. A few days later, the official video of their first song was shooted and brought the victory  at the Redbull Bedroom Jam GR 2014 contest.

Q: What are your music influences?

A: Each and every one of us has different influences! Nevertheless we are trying to create our own sound! Speaking for myself, I am a huge fan of Mumford and Sons.

Q: Who writes the songs? What are they usually about?

A: It's a band thing. Mostly love.

Q: Where do you usually gather  songwriting inspiration?

A: Hector's room :) I bring the idea  of a song,  lyrics and music in my acoustic guitar. Then Hector (producer and drummer) and myself, turn it into an actual song with structure and everything. Then we  jam the song in the studio and Alex writes some savage lead guitars, while Lef is killing it with the bass line :)

Q: After winning the Red Bull Bedroom Jam in 2014, you travelled to London to record your album under Red Bull Studios. How was that experience?

A: It was so intense!  Everything happened so quick and we hadn't realized where we were. We had to rehearse a lot before we hit the studio and we were stressed to perform tight in the rec. Definitely a trip we'll never forget.

Q: You played to the Ejekt Festival in 2014, which is one of the bigger festivals in Greece, and opened for Robbie Williams in Rockwave in 2015... Describe your feelings.

A: The energy of so many people in the audience is something that I can't describe with words. You feel like you're on the top of the world. But I think that the process to  get there is what counts the most. The feelings when the agency announces that you are a part of the festival, the rehearsals, the stressful process a few minutes before the show. And then that feeling... Priceless!

Q: Any thoughts about touring in Europe?

A: Yup. It's a dream for us and we're closer than ever.

Q: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there?

A: We are about to try something different now. It's for us to know and you to find out!

Q: You released your first EP in 2015 and then in October 2017, you released your LP called "Headlights."  Why did it take so long? How did that go and what are your next steps? Maybe releasing a full album?

A: The first year after releasing 'When Everything Must Go' was a year full of shows and trips. Then we started composing 'Headlights'. Having other jobs as well and different time schedules is really hard for us, for a band in general, to find some quality time. Midnight at studio is an everyday thing but still tough to concentrate. Hopefully now, music is getting our main thing in life. 100% dedication. So many things are coming up and we're really happy about this!

Q: Anything you would like to add or to share with your fans and future musicians?

A:  If you do it, do it with passion!
