Fontaines D.C. Take Over Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles
Fontaines D.C. brought their explosive live show to Los Angeles performing at the iconic Hollywood Forever Cemetery with Rew as part of their latest run of tour dates across the United States. The Dublin-formed band transformed Hollywood Forever’s Fairbanks Lawn into an unforgettable night of driving guitars, atmospheric melodies, and raw post-punk energy. Their live performance was part of a busy stretch of dates that saw Fontaines D.C. moving across the country before making their way to Southern California. The show was officially listed as sold out by Hollywood Forever, highlighting the strong demand surrounding the band's Southern California appearance.
Performing inside one of Los Angeles' most distinctive outdoor concert settings, Fontaines D.C. delivered a set spanning their catalog, including songs from Dogrel, A Hero's Death, Skinty Fia, Romance, and their newer material from Dopamine Chamber. The band's Hollywood set opened with “Boys in the Better Land” before moving through songs including “Here's the Thing,” “Nabokov,” “Marianne,” “Jackie Down the Line,” “It's Amazing to Be Young,” “Televised Mind,” “Roman Holiday,” “Big,” “Bug,” “Tongue,” “Happy for You,” “Big Shot,” “Favourite,” “In the Modern World,” “Six Shot Morning,” “I Love You,” and “Starburster.”
One particularly memorable moment came during “It's Amazing to Be Young,” which was dedicated to filmmaker David Lynch, whose grave is located near the stage at Hollywood Forever. The cemetery setting added another layer to Fontaines D.C.'s already atmospheric sound. Surrounded by historic graves and under the Los Angeles night sky, the performance created a distinctive backdrop for the band's blend of Post-Punk intensity and melodic songwriting.
The Hollywood Forever concert was not the band's only Southern California appearance during this stretch of their schedule. Just two days later, on September 27th, Fontaines D.C. performed at the Ohana Festival at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, California. The two Southern California performances gave fans opportunities to experience Fontaines D.C. in dramatically different environments: an intimate-feeling cemetery setting in Los Angeles followed by a major outdoor festival on the Orange County coast.
The band's California run was part of a larger U.S. stretch that included festival appearances in other states. Earlier in September, Fontaines D.C. performed at Shaky Knees Music Festival in Atlanta, Georgia.
Following their Southern California appearances, Fontaines D.C. are scheduled for European dates beginning in October, including performances in Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona, Bologna, Belgrade, Prague, Berlin, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Paris, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham, and London.
For Southern California fans, however, the back-to-back Los Angeles and Dana Point performances offered a memorable opportunity to see one of the most prominent Irish Rock bands of the current era perform in two very different California settings.
At Hollywood Forever, songs such as “Televised Mind,” “Big Shot,” “I Love You,” and “Starburster” carried through the cemetery grounds, while newer tracks including “Happy for You,” “Marianne,” “Tongue,” and “Six Shot Morning” represented the band's evolving sound.
With their 2026 schedule continuing across Europe and the UK, Fontaines D.C. remain firmly in motion — bringing their distinctive mix of Post-Punk, Rock, and atmospheric songwriting to audiences around the world. Fontaines D.C. at Hollywood Forever Cemetery was more than another stop on the tour. Against one of Los Angeles' most recognizable historic backdrops, the band delivered a powerful Southern California performance that gave fans a night to remember.
