Gizzverse takes over the Fox Theatre Pomona for a sold-out show with King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Mildlife

After a long-awaited return, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have embarked on their United States tour. Thus far, the Australian artists have toured Southern California cities such as San Diego, Pomona, and Santa Barbara. They will continue their California tour with live performances at Coachella Music Festival in Indio and the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo, California. The Gizzverse is taking up the nation by storm as devoted Gizz fans are traveling to see their favorite band on multiple dates on their tour.

The group performed a sold-out show at the Fox Theatre in Pomona, California. Eager fans arrived as early as 2:00 pm to grab a spot in line for a front row view of the show. Early patrons were awarded with limited bracelets that granted them access to the general admission pit which was located closer to the stage. As doors opened at 7:30 pm, a large crowd wrapped around the venue all through the end of the block to the adjacent side of the theatre. Crowd goers admired the retro aesthetics of the neighborhood of Downtown Pomona which featured antique shops and historical buildings. As the fans stepped into the vintage styled music venue of the Fox Theatre, they made additional lengthy lines for the band merchandise and the bar before the show started.

MILDLIFE

Joining King Gizzard on the first part of their Southern California tour are fellow Melbourne artists, Mildlife. The artists also have a loyal musical community, audience members in the crowd were excited to see them perform for the first time. Their tracks, “The Magnificent Moon,” “Automatic,” “Rare Air,” and “Zwango Zop” feature over a million streams on Spotify. The jazz fusion band debuted their modern musical ensemble with melodious and psychedelic tunes. The audience danced and swayed to the group’s sensational and electric beats.

KING GIZZARD AND THE LIZARD WIZARD

With a cult-like following, the Australian artists, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard are bringing their “Snake Pits,” enormous and collaborative mosh pits along with their thrash sessions to local venues throughout the nation. The artists were productive during their time away from the stage with mixing, producing, and releasing multiple singles and albums on their record label, Flightless Records. They expanded their content outreach by debuting music videos, films, and virtual live concerts on streaming platforms. The Gizzards definitely put the “you can do-it-yourself” in D-I-Y from editing and engineering their own music at home in the studio and developing their content platforms so fans can listen and stream their music and videos from the comfort of their home.

The artists were extremely productive during the pandemic with various musical releases in 2020 and 2021. They released three albums in 2020, a live album from their San Francisco tour date, “Live in San Francisco ‘16,” and an album of the times, “K.G.” which featured foreshadowing tracks such as “Automation,” which highlights how artificial intelligence is taking over our everyday lives. In 2021, they released two albums, “L.W.” and “Butterly 3000.” They also debuted multiple releases in 2022, they released their single tracks, “Magenta Mountain” and “The Dripping Tap.” They released an EP, “Satanic Slumber Party” and full-length album, “Butterfly 3001.” During this tour, the artists will be showcasing their new songs from their latest discography.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have developed a musical brand in which faithful fans are willing to travel to see them perform live and experience their heavy progressive and psychedelic rock jam sessions. They are also willing to wait patiently in long lines for an opportunity to purchase the band’s merchandise. Their branded merchandise are seen as desired collectibles and feature signature art designs and the band’s mascot, a cartoon lizard.
