Indie-pop band AJR sells out House of Blues on The Click Tour

Manhattan based band, AJR recently released their second album The Click. The single, Weak, quickly rose in the charts with other 150 million stream on Spotify. Following the success of their album, AJR sold out the first leg of their national tour. To anyone who has heard AJR’s album, this should come as no surprise.

Selling out the House of Blues Orlando is no easy feat, selling out the House of Blues Orlando on a Tuesday night is even more impressive. The earliest fans arrived at 10 am, 8 hours before doors opened, in order to ensure a spot on the rail for the show. The AJR fanbase is absolutely incredible. This was easily the most friendly and welcoming group the House of Blues Orlando has ever encountered.

The night began with L.A. based band Hundred Handed. The pop rock band kicked off the evening with a mixture of original songs such as Love Me Like the Weekend and a cover of the Blink-182 classic What’s My Age Again. It was clear that the Orlando was in for an exciting night.

GRIZFOLK

The next band to preform was five-piece alternative band Grizfolk. With a stage-presence like no other and a combination of classic Americana and modern indie sound, it was clear why most fans were just as excited for Grizfolk as they were AJR. Lead-singer Adam Roth mentioned in an interview that the band had written at least 1,000 songs together and this was clear in their performance. A modern band with an old soul, Grizfolk kept the audience on their feet and hyped for the night.

With the opening notes of Overture began to fill the HOB Orlando, the crowd passionately sang along to the mash-up of AJR hits. Lead singer, Adam Met, came bounding on stage and danced like nobody was watching. Other band members, Jack and Ryan, quickly followed. The energy of the band never once wavered. Whether it was crowd favorites such as Weak or synth remixes of classic Disney songs, no band has ever brought an energy quite like AJR.

The stage for this tour could only be described as magical. With a wide-open layout and a pyramid of lights, the band had plenty of room to rage as hard as their hearts desired. The professionalism AJR brought in terms of projection paired with the passion AJR has for live music made for an incredible night.
