Jorja Smith's sold-out show at the Hollywood Palladium

Jorja Smith brought her blend of Soul and UK Garage melodies to a sold-out show at the Hollywood Palladium on a steamy August night. Smith who was dressed in a Los Angeles Dodgers jersey top, as a nod to the city, has a big voice that manages to take every song to that sweet spot. Her second song performed was 'Blue Lights', an urban anthem with minimal production and her effective vocal delivery. Opening with a hit like this, set the tone for the rest of the night and the crowd was enjoying it.

Jorja Smith displayed her happiness between songs as she bantered with the crowd. She introduced her band, a four piece on backing vocals, was a big production. She also brough out her opening act, London based rapper, ENNY, to perform a duet on 'Peng Black Girls Remix', an urban anthem. It felt like the rest of the audience were also duetting on the track, knowing the lyrics word for word.

Another highlight was the performance of the track, 'On My Mind,' which is an upbeat song with a nod to 90s' UK Garage music and got the crowd moving. This track was off Jorja Smith's 2018 debut album. From Coventry, United Kingdom, Jorja Smith, has come up in a relatively short time. This concert was the finale of her mini-US tour and it's clear this young Queen of soul will be coming back to tour the United States very soon.
