Panic! At The Disco Takes On Sold Out Charlotte Crowd
In 2006, Panic! At The Disco peaked at number seven on the Billboard Top 100 with their hit, “I Write Sins Not Tragedies.” After not having a song this high on the charts for thirteen years, their song, “High Hopes” hit number six. This brought on a whole new generation of fans, and the sold out Charlotte crowd definitely proved it.
As soon as the crowd finished belting Toto’s “Africa,” the ten minute countdown ended, and it was time for the show. The band kicked off the set with an introduction played by the violin, cello and brass section which transformed into their explosive song “(F*** A) Silver Lining.” As soon as lead singer, Brendon Urie, flew out of the stage, the amped up crowd erupted in cheers. The high energy entrance was just a glimpse of what was to come.
From sparklers and backflips, to insane high notes, Urie knows how to keep a crowd entertained. A definite highlight of the show was the song “Death Of A Bachelor” where fans were lucky enough to come face to face with Urie as he walked through the crowd. Another highlight was their homage to Queen in a beautiful cover of “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
Towards the end, Urie repeatedly thanked the crowd for attending (and for being born). He then ran off stage, but the show was not over yet. The introduction for “Say Amen (Saturday Night)” began to play and fans went wild. They went on to perform “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” before closing it out with “Victorious.”
When the show was over, fans stuck around and sang along to the post show playlist. A few gathered confetti and streamers as keepsakes from the ground. Overall, Panic! At The Disco put on an unbeatable live show. From start to finish, the energy never diminished, proving Panic! At The Disco is a show never to miss.
