“Super Natural” times at a Turnover show in Charleston, South Carolina

Indie Rock band from Virginia, Turnover, just kicked off their Spring Tour at the end of March and Charleston, SC was one of their first few stops! They have a killer lineup, joined by Summer Salt and Mannequin Pussy for this run of shows. It was a packed house and the crowd absolutely loved every single band that played!

SUMMER SALT

Rock trio Summer Salt from Austin, Texas opened up the show with their beachy rock tunes to set a very chill-vibing mood. This group of best friends puts on a dreamy performance and their happiness to be performing was emanating from the stage into the crowd. They are influenced by older tunes and combine those sounds with a bit of rock to create the perfect beachy/relaxing music for days where you either want to just lay in the sun or go for a long drive to nowhere.

MANNEQUIN PUSSY

Mannequin Pussy took the stage next and played an enthralling set. Punk rock band from Philadelphia is a four-piece group, fronted by female powerhouse Marisa. Their intense and fast-paced music combined with the highs and lows she reaches with her voice- from screams to soft whispers, makes for a performance that simply just draws you in even if you’ve never listened to their music before. They have the ability to make you feel exactly what they’re feeling in each song and that makes for a very memorable set that you have a hard time forgetting.

TURNOVER

Turnover finished out the show and the crowd grew louder with each song they played. Touring in support of their most recent album Good Nature, the new songs are meant to inspire learning and embrace growing into something new. Hearing those songs live, it definitely allows for you to think and reflect and even learn something in that moment, at a concert. Some crowd favorites from the night were their songs “Pure Devotion,” “Like Slow Disappearing,” “Sunshine Type” and my personal favorite, “Take My Head.”

Turnover is touring through the end of April and you do not want to miss a show if they’re coming to a city near you! Many dates have been selling out, so go check out the rest of their dates and get prepared for a night of dancing, smiling, learning and vibing out to some great music by all three bands.
