Electro Indie Trio SHAED radiant set at The Drake Hotel
On Saturday December 2nd, the Drake Hotel Underground in Toronto gave host to Washington D.C. electro-indie pop trio SHAED. Speaking to them before and after their show, SHAED has been on a roll as of late. Having only been formed a year ago, the D.C. natives have already gone on tour with acts such as Sir Sly and Bishop Briggs. This, along with the fact they have an electric and original sound, has caused SHAED to really make tremendous strides in such little time.
With Chelsea Lee's powerful vocals and twin brothers Max and Spencer Ernst helming the production and instrumentals, their performance was practically flawless. Emitting both charm and killer energy, Chelsea along with the twins played the venue of over 100+ as if they were playing a packed stadium. Not only are they amazing musicians, but the trio from D.C. are also really nice people. I had the oppurtunity to hangout and shoot some portraits of them before their show and really appreciated the down to earth nature they welcomed me with.
It's hard to come by people like that now-a-days (especially in the music business) that show that they're genuine and don't take themselves too seriously. SHAED really have a lot going for them and after witnessing their performance and actually chatting with Chelsea, Max, and Spencer, these guys are definitely on track to becoming something really big in the music scene.
