Barb Wire Dolls

The Barb Wire Dolls rolled into New Jersey yesterday as part of the longest running traveling music festival in the United States, Vans Warped Tour. Vans Warped Tour has been at it since 1995 and was originally founded by Kevin Lyman. In my opinion no other organization has done more to cultivate the Punk music scene than Warped Tour, giving emerging artist the ability to play in front really large crowds on a National level. Warped tour also has a long list of alumni that reads like the who’s who of Rock and Punk music. I was lucky enough to be granted media credentials to Warped Tours stop here in New Jersey this Past Saturday, and would like to talk about one of the many Bands I had the opportunity to experience, The Barb Wire Dolls.

The Barb Wire Dolls hail from Crete Greece and the members are Isis Queen (lead vocals) , Pyn Doll  (guitar and vocals) , Remmington Pearce (guitar) , Iriel Blaque (bass) and Krash Doll  (drums). In 2015 they signed with Motorhead Music, which was run by musical legend Lemmy Kilmister himself and are currently touring in support of their new album “Rub My Mind “. This band has also done something not many others can say, how about two residency’s at the iconic Whiskey a Go Go in Hollywood California in 2015 and 17!

The energy that the Barb Wire Dolls bring to the stage is really something to see, but make no mistake about it they are a Punk band and bring with them songs charged with anger and outrage over the worlds current political and social injustices. This band delivers a very strong message of sexual equality, tolerance, acceptance and political decency and I love it! As with most festival shows the band played a rather short set list but still managed to work in a mix of old and new music with Isis singing a few from the crowd, and I mean in the crowd! The stage presence of this band is incredible with Isis and band mates working the crowd into a frenzy. I thought their set at Warped Tour was totally sick and I can’t wait to do it again.

I had an opportunity to speak with Isis for a few after the show, when asked about a possible tour in the future she told me possibly the fall of this year, Ill be waiting! Visit the Barb Wire Dolls on their web site and all social media platforms to keep up to date on the latest news!!

A big thank you to Vans Warped Tour for the hospitality, the music and a brilliantly run event, look forward to next year .Visit Vanswarpedtour.com for up to date information on upcoming dates in your area.
