The Districts and Twin Peaks Sweat Out Athens' Georgia Theatre
Since forming in rural Pennsylvania in 2009, The Districts have taken off - touring by themselves and most recently with Twin Peaks. The two bands left on tour together this past March, delivering some of the most electrifying and engaging performances of the season. This massive tour is taking the band through the US and then touring solo across Europe.
The band consists of Rob Grote (vocals/guitar), Connor Jacobus (bass), Braden Lawrence (percussion), and Pat Cassidy (guitar). The foursome delivered their songs with palpable feeling, and the audience stared in awe at their loud, passionate, energetic delivery.
Their latest album, Popular Manipulations, bellows their emotional and heartfelt lyrics in a way that resonates with any listener. This album shows them developing their sound into a combination of 2000s alternative and modern garage rock. This is the Districts third full-length album, released last fall. They’ve just released their single “Nighttime Girls”, which tells a story of disillusionment with the night time scene.
Although their time touring with Twin Peaks has ended, you can still catch them in the US until the end of May.
