Snakehips consists of two fine British blokes; Oliver Lee and James Carter. They’ve been around for a number of years now and seemingly have found their big breaks this past year or two as they’ve collaborated with artists like Chance the Rapper, MØ, ZAYN, and many more big names.
Bleachers’ Gone Now, released on June 2nd, is an energetic and stupendous effort from Antonoff’s band, blending powerful messages with lyrics that beg to be screamed, dynamism, and top-quality pop music. And this translated beautifully onstage.
The group played a well known venue in the Dayton, Ohio area. The crowd sang their hearts out with the band, while lighting up the room with their cell phone flashlights.
When you think of ska in Denver, you always think of The Dendrites. With a lineup that fills the stage, to energy that is palpable, The Dendrites always bring the party. November brought the release of a new album from The Dendrites, and in support of this album they threw a huge party at Denver's 3 Kings Tavern.
Rarely am I as happy to see two bands share the stage as I was for this line up. With singer/songwriter Jake La Botz, hailing from Nashville, TN and Low Cut Connie all the way from Philadelphia, PA, Denver opened their arms with a sold out show at The Hi-Dive. A diverse crowd, all coming together for the love of music, dancing, and laughter, the night couldn't have been better.
Canadian folk-rock band the Strumbellas packed Terminal West from floor to ceiling. The band comprises of Simon Ward on vocals and guitar, David Ritter on vocals and keys, Jon Hembrey on lead guitar, Isabel Ritchie on violin, Darryl James on bass guitar, and Jeremy Drury on drums. The sextet formed in 2008, and has since completed three albums and several worldwide tours.
Louisville Kentucky’s homegrown punk band White Reaper took over the Masquerade last weekend in Atlanta, Georgia. White Reaper has been running around the US promoting and playing their latest release, The World’s Best American Band.

J-Dog, Funny Man, Johnny 3 Tears, Charlie Scene and Danny all make up the band Hollywood Undead, currently. All of the band members use pseudonyms and wear their own unique mask, most of which are based on the common hockey goaltender designs. Hollywood Undead is a rap/rock mix band formed in 2005 in Los Angeles, California.
Foster The People took the stage Tuesday night at Houston’s House of Blues shortly following a rugged, garage-rock-grunge performance by opening act, Cherry Glazerr. Venturing down the road to be with those who missed their set a few days prior at Austin City Limits (or those simply wanting a second dose), the group came out strong with a hearty performance of Pay the Man off their new album Sacred Hearts Club and followed it shortly with Helena Beat, a tune from their 2011 album Torches.

Viva Le Vox is a three piece band that originated in Lake Worth, Florida but currently hail from Greensboro, North Carolina. They are a mix of Tom Waits, off beat Southern swing ala Squirrel Nut Zippers, with a dash of Nick Cave thrown in for good measure.
New Orleans natives MUTEMATH took the stage in St. Petersburg Florida on Sept. 30th after the release of their fifth album Play Dead. The band had experienced a minor set back before the tour began with the unexpected and upsetting news of their long time drummer Darren King leaving the band. The band's vocalist Paul Meany was ultimately faced with a dilemma in determining the future of the band, he decided to call up an old friend to fill the void and join the band on their Play Dead Live Tour.
Western Connecticut is home to a charming venue known as the Palace Theater of Danbury. Last Friday night it was a stop on the latest tour of Scottish born singer / songwriter Al Stewart who has been practicing his craft since the 1960’s.
