The rock trio DREAMERS successfully concluded their first headline tour. With their positive message stating that basically “nothing is impossible,” they entertained fans through their pop-rock songs, highlighting the ones from their latest EP release, FLY. After slowing it down with an almost fully acoustic version of “Come Down Slow,” they brought the energy back up with a cover of The Smashing Pumpkins’ “Bullet with Butterfly Wings.” DREAMERS played an incredible show, and clearly every member of the (surprisingly) diversely aged crowd enjoyed it.

Sunflower Bean is a New York alternative trio with post-punk influences and psychedelia. The band was Founded Nick Kivlen and Jacob Faber. The name comes from Kivlen’s sunflower seeds obsessions and Fabor's love for coffee. The two later decided to add Julia Cumming to their lineup as lead singer and bass player.
Volumes is an American progressive metal core band based in Los Angeles, California. Volumes music consist of upbeat and bouncy guitar riffs, groovy breakdowns and dual lead vocalists. Volumes hit Miami twice within the last year and came back even harder then before, while performing at the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale.
With only two more dates to close out her Reputation Tour across the United States, Taylor Swift landed in Houston over the weekend to perform in front of thousands at NRG Stadium. Scanning the crowd, one might have had preconceived notions of what the audience would look like - females, tweens - but this crowd seemed different - diverse and welcoming. From father-daughter outings, to best friends experiencing an unforgettable night, to small children seeing their first ever concert, this night was filled with memories as diverse as the people in attendance.
Boston duo, Tall Heights hit the Tourmaline Stage at KAABOO Del Mar on Sunday, September 16. With over 130 million Spotify streams and tours alongside the likes of Ben Folds, Judah & the Lion, and Colony House, Tall Heights’ Paul Wright (vocals/cello), and Tim Harrington (vocals/guitar) have been making considerable waves in the indie-pop scene. As the ever evolving desert as their backdrop, Bipolar has definitely made an impact on the local music scene. Originally from Sacramento California, and a band restructure in Las Vegas in 2008, they are a force to be reckoned with.
Welsh pop punk band Neck Deep embarked on their second US tour for The Peace And The Panic, hitting cities that aren’t typically covered by major world tours. After kicking off the tour in Santa Cruz, they headed down to the historic Majestic Ventura Theater.
Leon Bridges is a Fort Worth native who rose to fame in 2014 with his debut album, Coming Home. The songs from that album are soulful and nostalgic with a notable influence from soul legend Sam Cooke present. The album became number 6 on Billboard’s top 200 chart and also got him a Grammy nomination for best R&B album of the year.
The night opened with Cherry Pools. Their evidently handmade banner which declared “NO GODS, NO LABELS, NO GENDER, NO SEXUALITY, NO GENRES, NO RELIGION,” felt quite empowering. Everything about this band, from lead singer Martin Broda’s bright blue hair, to their captivating music, put a smile on every member of the audience.
Thom Yorke has confirmed a series of live electronic performances in the U.S. during which he, Nigel Godrich and visual artist Tarik Barri will perform songs spanning his solo works The Eraser and Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes and Atoms For Peace’s Amok. Support will come from special guest Oliver Coates. The tour will stop at The Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles on December 19 and 20 at 8:00 PM. With humble roots tracing back to the small town of Wasilla, Alaska, and approximately twelve years time since the release of their first album, alternative-rock group, Portugal. The Man, have experienced a monumental rise in global stardom since their impressive run in 2017.
Looking back, it appears that while long-awaited, this catalyst year was a well-deserved treat for the experienced band who, although clearly an established force in the industry, truly burst onto the international stage with the release of their eighth studio album, Woodstock.
The heart and soul of Philly graced Los Angeles' Forum with invigorating performances by music legends, Hall and Oates. They performed classic hits and collaborated on stage with Patrick Monahan of Train for songs such as, "Wait for For Me" and "Philly Forget Me Not." Canadian Punk Rockers, Chastity, raw performance at the Constellation Room evoked locals to randomly jump into the audience at other's bewilderment. Their storytelling music videos catches the viewer's attention with contrasting rhythms from dreamlike vocals to heavy instrumentals. The ethereal track, "Heaven Hell Anywhere Else," enraptures listeners with elevating melodies and intense percussion. This daydreaming track was the first single off of their debut album, "Death Lust." The album was released on July 13th on Captured Tracks. Their hefty track, "Children" is reminiscent of 90's Alternative Rock accompanied by a chilling tale depicted in their music video of young angst. The Glam Skanks, LA based band, hit Vegas with their bombastic beats and colorful glittery vibes. An all girl band formed in 2013, Veronica, Vanessa, Millie and Cassie performed songs from their self titled album Glam Skanks and also their latest album Glitter City. They brought high energy, killer guitar riffs, thumping bass and drums had the crowd jumping and dancing at the Pearl Concert venue inside the Palms Hotel and Casino. With an edgy punky attitude combined with a serious rock influence, this band really showed Vegas a great night! Can't wait for their return!
Originally formed back in early 2009, Echosmith, solidified its prominence in the indie-pop realm with the release of their wildly successful hit, “Cool Kids.” The song reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was eventually certified double platinum in the United States with a staggering 1,200,000 sales in the U.S. alone. Just as impressive is the simple fact that the band is comprised almost entirely of siblings of the Sierota family. As originally formed back in 2009, the group consisted of Sydney Sierota, lead singer, along with brothers Noah Sierota, Graham Sierota, and Jamie Sierota.

Kicking off their 23 date Summer Tour (June 25th - September 1st) the beloved duo will hit several iconic venues across the United States ranging from The Hollywood Bowl to Madison Square Garden. Lauper and Stewart will even make an appearance at the Budweiser Stage in Toronto, ON.
As part of the free on concert series at the Downtown Las Vegas Fremont Experience, The Cult performed rain or shine....literally. While waiting for the show to start, a typical monsoon rain cell passed through. It included huge thunderous boom and a wild crack of lightning followed by a crazy down poor of rain.
A Gathering of None is a quintet based all over the north, southeast and southwest of the United States. The band has existed since 2013 and have released 3 albums, the latest being "One Last Grasp At Hope". A Gathering of None are a quintet comprised of musicians from all over the north, southeast, and southwest United States. AGON began as a one-man project, with TB (formerly of horror punk underground icons Blitzkid) recording the 2013 EP "Purging Empty Promises" entirely on his own, performing all instruments as well as vocals.
Mikaela Davis is a singer/songwriter from New York who will be releasing her debut album July 13, 2018, under Folk label, Rounder Records. Usually, when a classical trained musician finishes music school they go on and join orchestras and become teachers, but in Mikaela Davis’s case she went on and became a songwriter. After attending music school as a harpist, Mikaela Davis chose an uncommon path for classical music majors and opted for becoming a solo artist and songwriter outside of the realm of classical music. Her music could be labeled as “pop” but it is more complex than that. Besides spending time writing songs Davis also toured a bit supporting acts such as Bon Iver, San Fermin, and the Staves.
The Pixies’ set proved they haven’t lost what they had in the 80’s and 90’s. Their performance was fantastic, high energy when needed and slow and sentimental at other times. Black Francis’s raspy on-stage banter and guitar solos were far from lacking, and they played a great mix of old Pixies and new Pixies. There wasn’t a dull moment of the set.
Punk rock and neo-psychedelia clash beautifully in the magical wizard-y ways of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. The Australian seven piece band is an absolute riot, and their shows are as well. At their sold out show at the Republic New Orleans, moshing was not only allowed but very encouraged. Their set was filled with shreddy guitar riffs solos and high caliber drum beats, not a person in the venue wasn’t banging their head to the music.
As an original art-deco theatre and registered Historic-Cultural Monument, the El Rey Theatre is definitely performance ready. Complete with massive chandeliers and an impressive ballroom turned concert hall, the historic venue is a prime setting for making grand memories. With a toe still visibly dipped in the theatrical past, the El Rey also serves as the perfect fit for bands with an exciting stage presence and just the right amount of charismatic flair.
