Ben Folds and the Nashville Ballet perform together in Nashville

While Ben Folds is mostly known for his alternative rock band Ben Folds Five, it is no secret that the North Carolina musician’s talent goes beyond rock. Ben Folds has successfully crossed-over to classical music and jazz. He was even named the first Artistic Advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra. 

 In 2014, Folds was commissioned by the Nashville Ballet, the Nashville Symphony Association, and the Minnesota Orchestra to write a concerto to which he responded with the 21-minute-long Concerto for Piano and Orchestra which is divided into three movements. This piece was first premiered by Folds and the Nashville Ballet at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.

Public is a three piece band based out of Cincinnati, Ohio. The band consists of lead singer- John Vaughan, bassist- Matt Alvarado, and drummer- Ben Lapps.
