Riptide Music Festival 2017

 

Riptide Music Festival hosted an interactive music festival featuring various performances by acclaimed musicians and  rising artists at Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida. The enticing music festival featured performances by Portugal. The Man, Cage The Elephant, Andrew McMahon, Weezer, Loverboy, Salt N Pepa, KC and The Sunshine Band, Boyz II Men, Shannon, Lou Gramm – Founding Member of Foreigner, and more. The festival powered by Ford was sponsored by various brands such as Yuengling and hosted by local radio stations such as 104.3 the Shark. The festival provided a laid back atmosphere for music lovers. Patrons enjoyed an abundant selection of food vendors, refreshing beer, and captivating live music. They roamed Fort Lauderdale beach interacting with vendors for giveaways, sampled food items, and crossed two stages for diverse musical acts. 

 

PORTUGAL. THE MAN

The Alaskan natives, Portugal. the Man, performed in the afternoon under the blistering sun rays. Their dazzling visuals stimulated the audience with colorful and psychedelic images. The memorable visual display was accompanied with their effortless raw musical performance. The hardworking musicians have achieved chart hits and noteworthy festival circuits.

WEEZER

Audiences were enthralled by the long-awaited return of California based group, Weezer. Their latest tracks are insightful, dark, and reflective. They discuss nostalgic topics inspired by friendships, relationships, summertime, and classic musicians. Their elated fans sang along to their classic hits, "Island in the Sun, "Pork and Beans," "Hash Pipe," "Beverly Hills," and more! Weezer will be on tour this Spring with the Pixies.

CAGE THE ELEPHANT

Nashville artists, Cage the Elephant, always provide a stunning show and closed the first night of the Riptide Music Festival. Matt Shultz in all his thunderous glory and fringe cowboy outfit was a gunning renegade on-stage. He jumped, danced, and raced across the stage while interacting with his devoted fans. Cage the Elephant performed a diverse set of tracks from their multiple albums. The bewitching melodies hooked the audience in a starstruck daze. 

 
 

SALT N PEPA

On the second day of the music festival, patrons arrived early for a chance to grab a front row view of incredible performances by acclaimed classic artists from the 70s and 80s. New York City hip hop artists, Salt N' Pepa, entranced audiences with their gripping performance. 

 

LOU GRAMM

As the sun began to set, more people crowded around the stage, anticipating more star-studded performances. Lou Gramm, founding member of Foreigner, performed with his multi-instrumental groups to hits such as "I Want To Know What Love Is," "Urgent," and "Double Vision." The audience cheered and roared to the heavy rock performance and electric melodies.

 

BOYZ II MEN

Female audience members gripped the metal fence as they peered up to see Philly's R&B group, Boyz II Men, perform under the enchanting moonlight. The soulful chemistry from the band members magnetized the audience as they sang deeply and passionately. They offered stunning roses to the starstruck audience during their enchanting set.  Women fought for a chance to take home a rose from the beloved group.

 

KC AND THE SUNSHINE BAND

Sunday night's headliner was South Florida's musical hero and Grammy award winner, KC and the Sunshine Band. Their theatrical performance was the ideal way to close Riptide Music Festival. Their sensual dancers stepped unto the stage and danced and grooved to high-strung beats. The fascinating choreography and stage changes kept the audience on their toes. The entertaining performances of "That's The Way I Like It," "Boogie Man," and other classic songs left audiences in an uproar. The audience danced and cheered with bright smiles across their faces during their enigmatic performance.
