Walk To The One You Love, Twin Peaks & Ron Gallo

Last week Twin Peaks took over the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The venue is famous for their hand in launching music icon, Bruce Springsteen. The reputable venue’s history promised a phenomenal show.

Twin Peaks' unique sound (which can only be described as Soft-Core-Dad-Punk) had been turning heads and drawing growing crowds since the group's formation in 2009.

The night began with Ron Gallo, an upcoming artist whose brand of Indie-Garage Rock is on the radar of some of the music industry's biggest heavyweights. His energetic set woke up the crowd.

Then came the headliner, Twin Peaks. The band came out to an uproar from the crowd, and an overwhelming push towards the edge of the stage (bruising the knees of the band's most dedicated fans) reinforced the knowledge that these fans weren’t messing around. Shortly after taking the stage an announcement was made, “Anyone caught crowdsurfing will be thrown out immediately,” and with that, the show began.

The performance progressed with an overwhelming crescendo of sound and sweat and beer and fantastic music, shaking the floors of the venue and infecting every member of the audience. With one final encore, the band re-entered the stage and grabbed their instruments. Without a single announcement the words “f*** it” seemed to enter the minds of every band member, fan, and spectator.

Crowd members leaped into each other's arms, surfing and moshing without fear of consequence. Upon the final song, band members Caiden and Jack leaped into the sea of swirling fans, putting the final stamp on a night that was never meant to be censored.
