AFI 'Bodies' Southern California Tour at the House of Blues Anaheim

Music fans began standing in line at the Anaheim Gardenwalk early in the week, starting on Monday, October 24th in anticipation of AFI’s two-night performances on Tuesday, October 25th and Wednesday, October 26th at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California. Devoted fans camped all day and night at outside the venue to grab their front row spot in line for Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s show. Doors opened at 7:00pm at the venue and music fans poured into the doors and completely filled the venue, fans stood arm to arm to watch the show with little room to walk around venue floor. AFI performed to a full house at the venue for their highly anticipated Southern California tour in Orange County. The band is currently on tour for their latest album release, Bodies. They performed earlier this year with a tour stop in Los Angeles, California. AFI are on their second tour run and performed concert dates at When We Were Young Festival in Los Angeles with artists such as Paramore, My Chemical Romance, and more.

Drab Majesty opened for AFI at the House of Blues performing an experimental electronic set. During the intermission, fans grabbed refreshments and spoke with fellow AFI fans in anticipation of their upcoming show. The lights dimmed and a beaming red light dimmed over the stage, the members of AFI stepped unto the stage and the show began. Davey Havok jumped about the stage and sang up close to fans. The group performed various tracks from their discography such as ‘Escape from L.A.,’ ‘Snow Cats,’ ‘Girl’s Not Grey’ and more!

AFI formed in 1991 in Ukiah, California and their first album was released in 1995 with a hit track, ‘Sing the Sorrow.’ Fans were elated when AFI performed their hit single ‘Miss Murder.’ The current band line up for AFI have been together since 1999 and released their first album collectively, ‘Black Sails in the Sunset.’ The group promotes a clean and healthy rock and roll lifestyle. Several band members are straight-edge, vegan, and vegetarian. Davey Havok has a side project, Blaqk Audio, and the band performs shows in Los Angeles.

AFI have a dedicated fan base which travel to various cities and states to experience their concerts live. Their fans enjoy attending different concert dates to experience a different set every show which motivates fans to camp out at various shows and work remotely while waiting in line. Many of their fans are part of the AFI fan club, Despair Faction, which was established in 2002. Through this exclusive fan club, AFI fans can obtain early pre-sale tickets and obtain discounts on merchandise. Open enrollment into the fan club opens once a year for limited entries.
