Alexandra Savior's 'Beneath The Lilypad' live at the Observatory Orange County
On a warm August evening, Alexandra Savior brought her blend of Indie Dream Pop music to Orange County music venue, The Observatory, in Santa Ana, California. Backed by a talented four piece, Alexandra Savior and her band performed a set of her new music to her loyal fans. They clamored on every word and whipped out their cell phones to record her classic hits.
During the performance, there was a chanteuse vibe with the backing music which was beautifully arranged and performed. Savior’s music is reminiscent of a wistful and melancholic soundtrack. Her breakout album 'Belladonna of Sadness', which was released in 2015, was produced by Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys, James Ford of The Last Shadow Puppets, and a producer working with Blur and Depeche Mode. She was also feted by musician, Courtney Love, early in her career and who became her friend and mentor.
Alexandra Savior's stage presence was meek and understated which perfectly suited the vulnerable melancholia of her music. She has a rare ability to make it seem as if she is singing one-on-one to each audience member. For upcoming shows at the Observatory Orange County, visit their website.
