Brockhampton -- A Mastermind Collective “Heaven Belongs To You” Tour

About halfway into their fourth North American tour, Brockhampton has definitely caught the attention of Generation Z’s avid Hip-Hop supporters. The young crowd swarmed into the sections rocking their newly purchased bright yellow hoodies from the merchandise stands. General Admission section of the venue filled up quickly and the crowd was impatiently cheering on any production crew member that peered from behind the thick black curtains.

Opening acts were 100 Gecs and Slowthai, both energetic enough to move the crowd and set the tone for the rest of the evening.

Suddenly, blue lights illuminated the stage while Kevin Abstract and Matt Champion opened with St. Percy from their latest release- ‘GINGER.’ Joba, Dom McLennon, Bearface, and Merlyn Wood soon followed onto the stage where they all stood in formation in matching orange jumpsuits.

Three massive crosses hung from the ceiling and mirrors were placed along the floor and wall to create an abstract scenery for the remainder of the night. The crowd brought their energy in full force and shouted the lyrics to every song that followed. Fans favorites of the night were “If You Pray Right” and “Gold.”

The six members maintained a stage presence that portrayed their chemistry, brotherhood, and frankly seemed to be having an absolute blast on stage. They were somehow gracefully in synch, but not really. They moved together at times, but also very sporadically throughout their set. There’s something special about watching a genuine group of friends enjoy their time of stage and perform the artistry that their bond has created.

A standout moment was when Kevin Abstract asked the crowd where the “guy who broke into their green room” was. They brought him on stage, sat him on their couch, and handed him a mic to tell his breaking-and-entering “green room” story. This guy climbed the side of the building into the second floor in his efforts to hand Kevin Abstract a slice of pizza. A committed fan, but also an all around nice guy moment. Brockhampton let their fan hangout on their couch while they performed their next song.

Brockhampton performed for an hour and fifteen minutes, closing with “No Halo.” Fans were eager for more but many made their way to the merch stands to buy more merch. A successful evening for the boys and a very satisfied crowd exited the building.
