DARYL HALL
There was a brief intermission after Costello’s concert where Daryl Hall’s crew setup the stage for the upcoming show. During this time, patrons went to grab band merchandise. Also, they visited the Greek Theatre’s food and beverage stands and purchased snacks and drinks such as grilled cheese and wine. At the time of Daryl Hall’s performance, the moonlight displayed beautifully on the music venue and the stage had a large backdrop with the cursive letter, ‘D,’ for Daryl Hall. The music performance felt as if the audience was living the Darl Hall’s television show live, ‘Daryl’s House.’
He opened the show with the iconic track, ‘Maneater,’ staring off with a lengthy instrumental introduction with electric guitar. He performed fan favorites such as ‘Out of Touch,’ ‘I Can’t Go For That,’ ‘Sara Smile,’ and more! Fans kept heckling during the show with song requests and one fan shouted to Daryl Hall that he loved him which Daryl playfully joked back that he loved all his fans and loved to be loved.
In between songs, Hall reminisced about his musical years and being a Philadelphia native. He informed the crowd that he was from Philadelphia, and he felt that night that he was in a Philly mood. He was born in a small town, Pottstown, which is forty miles away from Philadelphia. He mentioned he was in touch with his Philly roots and performed the song, ‘Philly Mood.’ Daryl Hall performed various songs from person songs, cover songs, and classic Hall and Oates songs.
He would alternate from performing at the microphone with his guitar to performing sultry songs at the piano. He gave background on a song he wrote titled, ‘Everytime You Go Away,’ which a well-known song performed by the singer-songwriter, Paul Young. Hall ended the show with ‘You Make My Dreams’ which was fitting for the enchanting night for music fans’ live concert dreams. For upcoming tour dates and more information, visit Dary Hall’s website.
