DIIV's having 'Everyone Out' at the Glass House Pomona and their California Tour
Indie Rock band, DIIV, pronounced ‘dive’, is currently on their California tour with the Texas Rock group, Kraus. They will be performing various tour dates in cities such as San Francisco, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo. DIIV initiated their statewide tour at the Glass House in Pomona, California on Friday, February 21st. Music fans lined up down the block from the venue and upon entering, filled the warehouse style to the brim. DIIV’s band introduction was displayed on a large screen backdrop, providing the audience with a glimpse into the night’s metaphysical music experience. Each band member spoke to the forthcoming transcendental experience that the viewer was about to witness.
The group combines technology, world events, and static visual arts paired with their dynamic live show. For example, some songs featured background lyrics on the screen and other songs featured videos snippets such as images from the band members being on zoom chats, cinematic visuals, or political images. Their musical tone, live shows, and fashion style are reminiscent of early 90s Alternative rock scene and Y2K. Their discography blends genres of Punk, Shoegaze, Dreamy Pop, and Indie Rock music.
They performed a diverse selection of songs from their albums: ‘Oshin,’ ‘Is the Is Are,’ ‘Deceiver,’ and ‘Frog in Boiling Water.’ Fans were given a special treat due to their lengthy live show filled with fan’s favorite songs. The audience swayed, moshed, and sang along to the music. Their live concert leaves the audience with an uplifting feeling that’s inspiring and spiritual.
