New Politics Wraps Up Lost in Translation Tour in Toronto with The Wrecks and Dreamers
Rock and roll did not die, and New Politics certainly proved it on Sunday night as they wrapped up the final show of their Lost in Translation tour in Toronto, Canada. The band, consisting of Danish duo David Boyd and Søren Hansen as well as NY native Louis Vecchio formed together in the late 2000’s and have since released 4 studio albums together, racking up over 700,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
THE WRECKS
Despite being a holiday weekend, the bands had no trouble racking up a decent sized audience. LA based indie rock band, The Wrecks, started off the night with explosive energy right from their first song into crowd favourites such as “Favourite Liar” and “James Dean.” It wasn’t long into their set until frontman Nick Anderson took a pie to the face by Dreamers’ lead singer Nick Wold as a congratulatory surprise for their last night on tour. Dreamers were next on the lineup, and the trio did not fail to keep the energy going accompanied by eccentric dance moves and a full fledged beer pong tournament in the middle of their set, courtesy of The Wrecks and New Politics members as well their crew.
DREAMERS
Finally, New Politics took the stage, bursting out of a black backdrop in synchronization to “Istanbul.” David Boyd’s stage presence kept the crowd on their feet the entire night, leaving the audience demanding an encore of “Lifted,” “Pretend We’re in a Movie” and “Yeah Yeah Yeah.” New Politics has proved that even after a nearly a decade together and a run of 32 shows night after night on the Lost in Translation Tour, they still know how to put on an unforgettable show. If you missed them this time, be sure to catch them at Bottlerock Festival in May.
