Pussy Riot's Global Activism during Los Angeles' NFT Week

Protest artists, Pussy Riot, are revolutionizing the music industry and their global activism through the art of NFTs. Through NFTs and cryptocurrency, the Punk Rock artists are funding global fundraisers for the efforts in Ukraine, LGBT, and abortion rights. They have created their own digital art such as music releases, music videos, and their own branded NFT collection. The Punk Rock artists are shaping the future of campaigning by the support of leading crypto enthusiasts, their fans, and the decentralized market. During NFT Week, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova known by her stage name, Nadya Riot, hosted a digital art event at the Superchief Gallery in Los Angeles, California.

Pussy Riot announced the free event during the day of the event which sold-out within minutes. Local fans attempted to R.S.V.P. for complimentary tickets when Pussy Riot announced additional tickets were released. When guests arrived at the gallery, they experienced NFT art and virtual reality platforms. Nadya Riot performed a DJ set mixing tracks by t.A.T.u. and various other artists. She also performed a live performance debuting the latest Pussy Riot tracks.

Alongside Nadya on stage were Russian masked dancers wearing the notable ski-masks that Pussy Rioters have trademarked. As the dancers twerked and bounced upon the stage to the electronic experimental tracks, Nadya would whip a red thick whip on the stage. Prior to the night’s festivities, she was in the studio recording with singer-songwriter, GRIMES, and a popular podcast.

As a leading founder of Pussy Riot, Nadya Riot, continues to promote the vision of the Russian Feminist protest group. An avid political activist, she makes public appearances on worldwide news discussing injustices caused by Russian leader, Putin. For example, she has made several appearances on the news to discuss the war in Ukraine. She collaborated with Trippy Labs and members of PleasrDAO to create UkraineDAO NFT which helped raise $7.1 million dollars for Ukraine. In addition, she promotes awareness of social injustices of discrimination against women and restrictions on female rights. Pussy Riot hosted concerts to promote awareness for abortion rights in states such as Texas to raise funds for local community services for women. Pussy Riot have announced they will be performing at Outside Lands music festival this Fall.
