Snow Patrol's 'The Forest is The Path' US Tour

Snow Patrol performed two nights at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, California. The artists performed a blend of songs from their discography, ‘Eyes Open,’ ‘Final Straw,’ and more! The group performed several new songs from their latest album release, ‘The Forest is The Path'. Snow Patrol will be continuing their tour this Spring and Summer nationally and internationally.

Lead singer, Gary Lightbody, provided background on the songs they performed throughout the concert. For example, he provided the history of the creation of the song, ‘Set The Fire To Third Bar.’ The group were listening to singer, Martha Wainwright, while they were writing their album, ‘Eyes Open,’ and reached out to Wainwright. Lightbody wrote the song ‘Set The Fire To Third Bar,’ for Wainwright. He informed the audience that Martha Wainwright was playing Dublin on the last day that they were recording their album.

Martha Wainwright came to their studio and sang the song on the first recording take. Gary Lightbody mentioned it was a perfect recording after only the first take. He stated that it was inspiring when he watched Wainwright perform the song at the studio. Snow Patrol performed the song, ‘Set The Fire To Third Bar,’ after the song’s background overview. Gary Lightbody kidded that Martha Wainwright wasn't present at the show but she would be on the screen. He dedicated the song performance to Wainwright.

Gary Lightbody shared that fellow band member, Johnny McDaid, broke his hand on the second day of their tour and during their United Kingdom tour, he broke his other hand. McDaid played the show even though his hands were broken. He performed throughout the show on guitar and piano even after his recent surgery. Lightbody dedicated the next song to him, ‘Talking About Hope’, which is a track from their latest album.

Lightbody was inspired and continued to provide song dedications throughout the concert. He dedicated their song, ‘Open Your Eyes,’ from their album, ‘Eyes Open, to their agent, Marty Diamond. Snow Patrol performed new songs throughout their live show. The group performed their latest single, ‘But I’ll Keep Trying’, live at The Wiltern, which they had not performed in the United States yet.
