The Marias and Automatic performance at Cal Coast Credit Union Ampitheatre

 

The Marias kicked off their Submarine tour on Sunday, August 18th at Cal Coast Credit Union Ampitheatre in San Diego, California. They will be performing various tour dates in Southern California at the Hollywood Forever Cemetry on Thursday, August 22nd and Friday, August 23rd. Joining the Marias on tour are Los Angeles artists, Automatic.

 

AUTOMATIC

Attendees arrived early on Sunday evening prior to the concert and lineup outside the venue, Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre, in San Diego, California. Upon entering the music venue, guests lined up again outside of the merchandise booth to purchase their favorite band gear. The opening performers, Automatic, began the show and announced they were happy to back in their home state, California. They also voiced their gratitude for the opportunity to tour with band, the Marias. They performed various of their electric fuzzed songs underneath a dim red-light, which set the mood for the show. THE MARIAS

Concertgoers filled the seats of the music venue as they awaited the Marias’ show. The Marias performed two nights at Cal Coast Credit Union Ampitheatre which is a venue located in the University of San Diego. The stage went dark and the Marias’ band members walked upon the stage. Maria from The Marias celebrated all the countries of the patrons attending the concert. She asked who was visiting from countries such as Mexico, Venezuela, Columbia, and more. The audience cheered as she shouted out each country. People traveled all over from Central and South America to attend the Marias’ concert.

Maria shared insight to writing songs for the album, ‘Submarine,’ from being in a writer’s block and then driving home one day and the songwriting process flooded in. She also mentioned how fans petitioned to have songs featured live during their concert. The band performed a lengthy set of songs from their discography and performed cover songs. The audience members sang along to each of their songs and cheered during their favorite songs. They were present and focused on the center stage throughout the enigmatic show.
