Air Supply 'The Lost In Love Experience' Tour at Magic City Casino

 

Australian Rock band, Air Supply, returned to the Magic City for their 50th anniversary tour. The group is currently on their ‘The Lost in Love’ Experience tour throughout North America. Air Supply performed at Magic City Casino in Miami, Florida on Saturday, May 3rd. The Classic Rock group performs at the music venue, Magic City Casino, frequently.

Their devoted fans arrived early at the venue to grab their seats and refreshments in preparation of the show. Air Supply kicked off the show at 8pm. Music duo, Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, walked onto the stage, and the audience stood and cheered for their entrance. The group performed many of their classic hit tracks. The elated audience danced, swayed, and sang along to their music performance. During a brief intermission during the live set, Graham Russell, recited a poem, ‘Invisible,’ to set the mood of the concert. Russell debuted a new song titled, ‘Can I Say We Do,’ about couples who have long-lasting relationships.

When band member, Rusell Hitchcock, rejoined Graham Russell on stage, they recounted the story on how they first met. The artists met in choir rehearsal when they were auditioning for the play ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ in Sydney, Australia. Graham mentioned there was an empty chair next to him and his music partner was late. He joked about Hitchock’s appearance when he first met, that he heard his jewelry rattling and noticed his big afro and tight clothes. Graham mentioned that they began to sing and it was like as if the heavens parted.

A voice went off in his head that he had to meet him. After the rehearsal, he introduced himself and they decided to create a band together. Graham mentioned that they were musical soulmates. It would be 50 years next week that they met which was May 12, 1975. They formed the group, Air Supply, and their music went straight to the top of the charts in Australia.

They recounted how they went on their first tour with Rod Stewart across North America and Canada in 1977. The duo reminisced on how they performed at beautiful venues across America such as the Forum and Madison Square Garden. However, when they returned to Australia after their tour, and they were broke. Graham Russell wrote songs that turned their music career around. Throughout the concert, Air Supply surprised the audience with the guitar solos and drum solos.

The audience crowded around the stage during Air Supply’s performances of ‘Lost in Love,’ ‘Making Love Out of Nothing at All’, and the cover of the Harry Nilsson’s song, ‘I Can't Live (If Living Is Without You)’. The Miami crowd was overjoyed by Air Supply’s live performance. Their fans cheered and applauded throughout the concert. Their dedicated fans displayed their love for the group and their music. At the end of their encore, Air Supply thanked their fans and left them with a positive message to continue to spread kindness.
