Bronze Radio Return Brings the Energy to Downtown Orlando
At the start of 2019, Bronze Radio Return kicked off their 4 month national tour with Sontalk. Before joining the lineup of bands on the Rock Boat Concert cruise, Bronze Radio Return stopped by the Soundbar in downtown Orlando, Fl. With music that’s one part dance party and another part roots-rock, Bronze Radio Return knew how to bring the energy. With more than 60 million streams on Spotify and a new album release in less than a month, it was clear that the band members were genuinely excited to perform.
One of the first stand-out moments of the night was opening act, Sontalk. Starting the evening with some self-proclaimed “sad-jams,” singer Joesph LeMay brought the soul and passion that a lot of artists lack. LeMay’s powerful voice paired with the raw talent of the guitarist accompanying him allowed for an authentic and emotional start to the night. With 5 incredibly energetic band members, Bronze Radio Return easily crowded the small stage which contributed to the intimacy of the performance. Opening with their most popular songs, Light Me Up, the setlist was a well balanced mix of crowd favorites and new music from their upcoming album and most recent EP. Lead singer, Chris Henderson made sure every fan in the venue was engaged with the show. Despite the show being on a Thursday night, Henderson repeatedly reminded the crowd to “party like it’s the weekend” and quickly got everyone dancing.
As Henderson announced that the final song of the night was upon us, a fan yelled out a request for “Rough Town,” a song that is not played live very often. After hearing the request, Henderson laughed and told the crowd a story about a fan who sent the band a strongly worded email in regards to leaving her favorite song off the setlist. Henderson made a joke about not wanting to get another angry email and played the song before returning to the original setlist. Closing the night were hits like Good Company and Shake, Shake, Shake with the crowd managing to sing louder than the band.
On their website, Bronze Radio Return describes themselves as “the band you’ve probably heard, but haven’t heard of.” Even if you have not heard of their name before, odds are you know one of their singles. With less than a month until their new album “Entertain You” comes out, Bronze Radio Return is a band you do not want to miss.
