The Kills sell out two nights at The Mayan during the Southern Californian leg of their tour

The powerhouse Rock and Roll duo, The Kills returned to the stage at the Mayan in Downtown Los Angeles. Fans were eager for this live performance after three long years since their last live performance due to restrictions caused by the pandemic. The Kills released their album, ‘Little Bastards’ in 2020 during the time the world was facing a global crisis with COVID-19. The ‘Little Bastards’ album’s cover features charming portrait images of the band members with a vintage appeal. To promote their upcoming tour, the Kills displayed their extensive polaroid collection at the Morrison Gallery in Los Angeles, California.

They performed two sold-out concert dates at the iconic music venue, The Mayan. This LA music staple features all types of music events from concerts to salsa dancing nights. Concert goers enjoyed the show from multiple floors of the venue. As guests walked up to the venue, they stopped to take pictures of the venue’s hieroglyphic architecture and bright rainbow lights that shined from the signage. Local Los Angeles Punk Rock group, The Slaughterhouse, kicked-off the night with their heavy rock performance. Shortly after their performance, the stage was setup with a disco ball, a vase with flowers, and a clear plastic drum set for the Kills’ set.

During the Kills’ Los Angeles concert, the group performed various tracks from their discography. The audience cheered when the group performed their favorite tracks such as, “Baby Says,” “Black Balloon,” “Sour Cherry,” and more. The musical soulmates, Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince, displayed their seamless melodic connection on stage. Mosshart focused on performing the ultimate concert for their fans as she walked across the stage and sang at the top of her vocals while Hince performed whimsical guitar solos performed. They shared laughs and embraces in between sets as they took in the overwhelming positive feedback from the audience.

The duo commented how they were ecstatic to return to the stage in Los Angeles where Alison Mosshart has a home and where they shared many music memories and friends. By musical fate, the duo found each other at the perfect time early in their musical career. As soon as the Kills began to collaborate on songs and showcase their music through a national tour at local venues, they quickly were noticed and moved to the center of the music and fashion world. Their archetypal image, classic fashion style, and memorable live shows gained media attention and a devoted fan base.

Together the artists are the yin to each other’s yang, they complement each other’s musical talents perfectly. They highlight their musical abilities and push each other’s creative abilities to larger thresholds. With a blend of Blue Rock, Grunge, and classic Rock and Roll, the artists develop a large than life presence from their live performances to their individual tracks.

The Kills have also displayed their polaroid gallery at the New York City Morrison Gallery and headlined shows at the Brooklyn Steel in New York City. For more information and upcoming tour dates, visit thekills.tv.
