The Revivalists Bring their Take Good Care Tour to the House of Blues Orlando

Follow the release of their newest album, Take Good Care, The Revivalists finally stopped in Orlando to preform at the House of Blues Orlando. Formed just over 10 years ago, it was clear that the Revivalists have live shows down to a science. With a stellar set list and an unparalleled energy, this show was one for the books.

Opening the night was Rayland Baxter, the blues oriented musician who sounded a lot like a stripped down, acoustic version of the Revivalists. With almost 20,000,000 on his single Olivia, Rayland Baxter already had a strong following at the show. This did not stop him and his band from trying to win over the rest of the audience and it is safe to say that he succeeded.

Bounding out onto the stage, Revivalists frontman David Shaw quickly addressed the crowd before opening the night with When I’m With You. The first half of the show featured a mix of old favorites and new hits like You and I. From the very start of the show, the crowd and the band never stopped dancing together with the House of Blues resembling a party more than a concert venue.

The first portion of the set ended with one of their first hits, Otherside of Paradise. The band had not even left the stage completely when the audience already started cheering for an encore. It was no surprise when the band came back to preform their biggest hit, Wish I Knew You as well as a cover of Fine Young Cannibals’ She Drives Me Crazy.

Ending with a surprise of the night, the Revivalists came out for a second encore to preform their emotional song, Soulfight. With much of the crowd leaving after the first encore, the second encore was the perfect intimate end to a wonderful night. While talking with fans after the show, one attendee shared that this was her 15th Revivalists show and this one had some of the best energy she’s ever seen.

Don’t miss the Revivalists on their upcoming Summer Tour running from May 16th through August 29th. Tour dates, tickets and general info can be found here.
