"Self Control" during Quarantine with South Florida's 'The Carmics'

Engaging with creativity and music making during quarantine, The Carmics have released their debut music video for their sophomore track, “Kids.”

The Carmics released their track, "Self Control" in December 2019 and have been writing new music since their first song release. Previous to the COVID pandemic, the group were playing shows throughout Central and South Florida. They planned to debut their track, "Kids" at the end of March but recording stopped due to the pandemic. The group continues to write tracks for their upcoming album and are planning to release upcoming singles. The Carmics spoke with SoundBite Magazine about their recording process, favorite records, and provided advice for fellow musicians.

Rex Orange County Sold Out Performance at Fillmore Miami Beach

Rex Orange County performed a sold out show at the Fillmore in Miami Beach, Florida. It was a packed house and the line stretched for two blocks before doors opened. The line was filled with fiery anticipation and hip Gen-Zers that had no problem standing in the rain if it meant being serenaded by Rex’s crooning voice soon. The theatre quickly filled and the crowd chanted for the concert to commence. At exactly 8:45pm, he strolled on stage, waved at the crowd and opened with “10/10.” The stage was covered in imitation grass and giant cloud cut-outs that were hung over a light blue backdrop, providing a dreamy and lighthearted landscape.

As the riff of ‘Scream’ starts to play through the crowds ear drums, the ladies closest to the barriers starts to sing the lyrics along with Ash Costello, the Lead singer. The band has a high end interacting energy that every fan loves with their favorite bands. During New Years Day set, the lead guitar and bassist, Austin Ingerman and Nikki Misery went out in to the crowd and rocked out with fans within the sides of the venue, as Ash Costello sung her heart out. For the Final Song, Defame Me was a highly intense crowd interacting song, which the chorus was sung loud and proud with Ash Costello. New Years Day is a band that does not disappoints when it comes to a studio and live version of their songs. New Years Day knows how to get the crowd moving and rocking out with the band. After their set ended, they announced to the crowd they were going to be on the side of the venue having a meet and greet with each and every fan that was interested with having a photo, signed merch or a simple chat with the band. The way the Band interacts with their fanbase is inspiring and no matter how well-known their reputation become, they will remain humble and always interact with their fans.

COIN draws huge crowd for first night of Paradise of Thought Tour in Orlando, Florida

Kicking off their 2019 Paradise of Thought tour, COIN filled the Beacham in Downtown Orlando on Tuesday night. Exactly one year after preforming at the same venue for their previous tour, Florida fans were thrilled to find out COIN would be returning to Orlando at the start of this year. Fans started waiting in line at 7 am in order to secure their spots on the barricade and one fan had driven all the way from Tennessee to see the first night of tour with her friends.  Another couple shared a story about how they met at the previous COIN show a year earlier and were now returning to celebrate their anniversary as a couple. Every person in line had a different story as to how COIN had connected them to so many other people who love the band. It’s clear that the fanbase has turned more into a family than anything else.

Gnash reached out to Olivia expressing interest in her material, and asked for her to send him any original songs that she had.
