Twenty One Pilots: The Bandito Tour

This duo, currently comprised of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, began their rise to stardom in 2012 upon signing to the label “Fueled by Ramen” and shortly thereafter releasing “Vessel” in 2013 – though Tyler Joseph self-released two earlier albums with alternate bandmates, who left the group in 2011. Their first release in 2013 had notes of early 2000’s pop sprinkled throughout the many of the synth-centric tunes but often contrasted this light-hearted bounce with heavier lyrics and gripping transitions like in “Car Radio” that have made for epic stadium and festival performances. Upon the release of their second album, it became evident these two had refined their sound, their songwriting, and ultimately their presence in the mass flood of music across the Internet. Smash hits like “Stressed Out” and “Ride” still sit at the top of the band’s Spotify page and garnered the attention of larger audiences across the globe.

Now, these two performers have combined a unique blend of pop, rock, and hip-hop to defy genres and wow audiences with the release of their latest album, “Trench.” Making its debut to the world on October 5, 2018, numerous songs from the album already have tens of millions of plays on streaming platforms and can be heard on the radio. Central to their latest tour supporting the album, is the color yellow and a defiant attitude – as was seen when the group brought “The Bandito Tour” to Houston.

On the night of the show, the streets of downtown surrounding the Toyota Center, where the group was set to play later in the evening, were flooded with a sea of yellow-clad fans waiting in painfully long lines just to enter the arena. To no surprise, the first show’s ticket sales proved to be so promising that the group announced a return date for the city of Houston, making their way back on June 21, 2019.
