Halloween is coming a little early this year ghouls and fools! Since 2012, The Growlers have been performing and headlining their own spook-takular socal festival, Beach Goth and they’re doing it again on August 5th at Los Angeles State Historic Park. Don’t worry, costumes are still encouraged! This year’s lineup includes stellar performances from Starcrawler, GWAR, Doug E. Fresh, Bleached as The Ramones and many more! There are also a few familiar Beach Goth faces such as The Drums, La Luz, The Voidz and of course the boogeymen themselves—The Growlers!
House of Creatives Music & Arts Festival has announced its Phase 1 lineup for the 2018 edition of the Miami festival, which is set to return November 10 & 11.

On August 2-5, 2018 Lollapalooza will make its much-anticipated return to Grant Park, Chicago, continuing the festival’s long-standing run of over 25 years. Childish Gambino announced dates for his upcoming North American tour with special guest Rae Sremmurd. Produced by Live Nation in partnership with Wolf + Rothstein, the month-long outing will visit 13 cities across North America, kicking off in Atlanta on September 6 and wrapping in Vancouver on September 30.
On a blisteringly hot day, people from all over the Asbury Park area rallied together at Springwood Park as a part of the “Families Belong Together” protests happening nationwide. The protests were set into motion as a way of showing peaceful solidarity with people whose families were broken apart by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the current and former presidents’ terms.
This past Saturday held the 7th annual Summer Splash event which doubled as a tribute to Sublime’s loved, Bradley Nowell. The event took place at a very unique venue in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Shed is a pop up amphitheater that definitely gave you a very modern vibe along the train station. As the doors opened around 1:30pm the sun beamed a scorching 90 degrees. But it was only about to get hotter from there.
Over the past few years “Pride Day” in Asbury Park, NJ has gone smoothly but this year was very different. Pride Day is the last Sunday in June and in Asbury Park it’s held in Bradley Park, an idyllic location a block away from the beach. However, this year Bradley Park was given to Revivalist Reverend Jonathan Shuttlesworth and his “Festival of Life.” Shuttlesworth is no stranger to making anti-LGBTQ comments as he once said that “somebody bound in homosexuality [has a] wicked spirit.” Needless to say that once the LGBTQ community and its allies heard of Shuttlesworth’s festival coming to town, it did not take long for them to come up with a counter festival that welcomes all.
Slossfest is a southern festival highlight, taking place July 14-15th in Alabama’s “Magic City” Birmingham. The festival’s venue is one-of-a-kind; it’s held at the historical industrial site Sloss Furnaces. It’s the only site in the United States that has preserved 20th century blast furnaces and played a major key in the American industrial revolution. Wu-Tang Clan announced that they will perform at Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles on Friday, July 27 9:00 PM. The show will feature all original members of the group. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 15 at 10:00 AM via AXS.com.
With a knack for good music and a desire to give back, local San Diego rock musicians, Switchfoot, will once again hit the waves and stage on June 30, 2018 for the14th Annual BRO-AM Beach Fest. Drawing crowds of over 17,000 people and counting, the event will be held at Moonlight State Beach and feature attractions such as surfing contests and a plethora of different vendors lining the sand. Main draws will also include a top-notch set of live performances by Colony House, Sure Sure, and the winning band from the 91X Battle for the BRO-AM. Switchfoot themselves will even close out the afternoon with a scheduled set beginning at 3:35pm.

The Cambridge River Arts Festival first began in 1974 when a group of artists charged themselves with the development of an annual event that would showcase and celebrate the rich artistic traditions and activity that make Cambridge such a unique and exciting place. Each year this event is held to support local artists and engage audiences with a dazzling array of visual and performing arts.
Each year at The Calgary Stampede they host multiple Canadian artists and other artists from around the world at a stage they call "The Coca Cola Stage." Previous line ups included artists such as Vance Joy, Magic!. X-Ambassadors and Alessia Cara. This is the top event to attend if you are someone who wants to discover new artists, view local artists or if you are a music lover in general. I like to view it as a huge music festival that is split into multiple days so that you don't have to endure a full tiring day out in the sun waiting for your favourite artist to perform.
The fifth annual Float Fest is on the calendar for July 21-22, in historic San Marcos, Texas. Float Fest is a unique festival experience: attendees have the chance to go tubing down the San Marcos river to get to the main festival grounds. It’s a great way to cool off before heading to Cool River Ranch to see top-billed artists such as Tame Impala, Snoop Dogg, Glass Animals, and Modest Mouse.
The Punk Rock Bowling Festival firmly established itself as THE festival to attend in Las Vegas. Yes, there is actually a bowling tournament! Its origins run deep in the punk rock comminity having been started by the brothers Shawn and Mark Stern, founding members of the legendary LA based punk band Youth Brigade.
